News and Announcements

Hello Everyone,

Due to unplayable fields, all House League Games in Halton Hills are cancelled tonight.

FYI, there is an indoor “Jurassic Park” at the Acton Arena tonight as the Raptors could clinch the NBA Championships, what a great way to spend a rainy, ball is cancelled night. Entry is free of charge.

The Trafalgar Sports Park’s Field of Dreams project has been chosen as a recipient of a portion of the proceeds from the Head for the Hills Beer Festival. As part of our agreement with Head for the Hills, we need to provide volunteers to help make the event successful. We are reaching out to all families in the ball community for your help.

There are three shifts available, morning, afternoon and full day. Morning volunteers earn us “1 point” and are also provided free access to the festival at the completion of their shift. Afternoon shift volunteers earn “2 points” but cannot drink or participate in the event, other than volunteering. A full day volunteer earns “5 points.” At the completion of the event, all of the points are tallied, and then the proceeds are divided among the recipients, according to the number of points that are collected. (Volunteers who do not honor their commitment are docked their points plus one).

The Head for the Hills event is September 14, 2019 and as an Association we have decided that there will NOT be tryouts that day, so coaches and parents can support this project to help raise funds for the TSP project.

We need to know ASAP who is able to volunteer, as we have to submit names and contact information to the organizing committee. If you are able to help out or would like more information, please reach out to

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello House League Families,

Our final photo day for the season is scheduled for Saturday June 22 at the Georgetown Fairgrounds. Photos will take place on the track, under the trees, closer to the Armouries/Fairgrounds #1 diamond. Please refer to the attached schedule to determine your team’s photo time. We ask that teams arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled photo time and as soon as the entire team has arrived, we will have your photo taken. (We have this down to an artform, and it should take approximately 20 minutes to have your player in and out of the park).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to

The document June_22_-_Photo_Day_Schedule.xlsx was attached to this post.

Congratulations to the Armstrong Insurance Pee Wee House League Tournament Champions!

Also a special thank you to our House League Director John Behara and to our conveners, Heather, Greg, and Nicole for running a terrific tournament for our House League players and their families.

And our gratitude goes out to our volunteers who made sure that everything went smoothly on the diamonds, at the photo station, and at the Sweet Spot: Sara P, Sophia P., Faye, Tara, the Dunphy family, Taylor, Janet, Ryan B, Sam, Carver, Brian, Ryan S., Matthew,Madeline and Jake W.

Hats off to our “Men in Blue” umpiring crew who did a fantastic job ensuring that our games all went along smoothly.

And thank you to whoever arranged the weather to co-operate so we could stick to our schedule and get all of our games in!

The Minor Bantam Tier 2 Eagles opened the tourney with a decisive win against the Kitchener Panthers by a score of 7-0. They qualified for the championship pool on Saturday morning with a tight, defensive game with the Cambridge Cubs which HHMBA lost 5-2 (all unearned runs for some sleepy teens). The team slogged through a rainy Saturday afternoon against the Thornhill Reds and survived our quarter-final match 6-1 to make it to the semis in a downpour with gail-force winds.

Play resumed on Sunday against the Ajax Spartans and the Eagles overcame an early deficit to win our semi-final 11-5. The team carried the momentum in to a re-match with the Cambridge Cubs and the depth of our pitching shone through for a final tally of 9-5 in the Championship Victory!
