The HHMBA is a volunteer run organization that relies on the generosity of others to be able to run the programs for youth in our community.  We are currently looking for coaches for our 9U, 11U and 15U House League ALL STAR teams; our 9U Development Team and all divisions in our House League Programs.

9U Development Team

Our 9U development team is intended for the select handful of players that are currently at a 7U age (born in 2013) that have the physical ability and mental capacity to play and understand the game of baseball at a higher level in 2020.  This team is intended to compete within the Halton Hills Minor Baseball 9U House League in 2020 and compete against players 1 and 2 years older.  In addition to this higher level of competition and early exposure to the rules and structure of 9U level ball, the 9U Development team will also get an additional practice per week with their specific team and coach to further develop their skills and ability.  If there are not 12 players currently at the 7U age level that are capable or available to form this team, the Association will add additional 9U aged players to the team for the purposes of competing in the house league.

The hope is that the work and practice undertaken in the 2020 season, will set up these players – and the overall program – to hit the ground running with a stronger entry as a 8U Rep Travel team in 2021.  One item to note: inclusion on the 2020 9U Development team does not guarantee a spot on the 2021 8U Rep team.  All players must go through the normal tryout process in September for the 2021 season.

Tryouts for this team will take place in April, 2020.  Please keep an eye on our website and social media for details.

If you have any questions, please contact Bob DeZeeuw – (bob.dezeeuw@hhmba.ca or 905.866.9273)

House League All Stars

House League All Star programs are made up of House League players who are interested in participating on a team chosen with the expectation to play in an additional Select Level Loop with teams west of Halton Hills and potentially enter in additional tournaments throughout the 2020 season.  These players' first commitment is to their House League team, and then they will come together to represent HHMBA on this combined team.   Just as all of our other Representational teams, there will be a tryout process for these teams in April and coaches will be responsible for choosing their team from the talent that attends these tryouts.

There is an additional fee of $275 per player assessed to all rostered All Star members.

Unfortunately if there are no candidates for coaches for the 9U, 11U and 15U teams, the HHMBA will not offer these programs this season.

Coaches have already been selected for the 13U and 18U teams.

If you have any questions, please contact Bob DeZeeuw – (bob.dezeeuw@hhmba.ca or 905.866.9273).

House League Coaches

Our House League Coaches are an integral part of our House League program, as without them, teams will not run.  Typically these coaches are a family member of the players on their team, but we also have coaches who are former HHMBA players or community members who have a love of the game that want to give back.

As a coach, you are given the task of organizing your players each week for league and practices.  This would involve setting a batting and fielding line up for the players and bringing the equipment to the diamond.  Our most successful house league coaches involve the parents of the players on their team to help with the games and practices.

Our House League Directors, John, and Jason, along with the Division Conveners are available to make the coaches role go smoother.

Those who are interested in learning more about coaching in house league, should reach out to our house league Directors jason.tomlinson@hhmba.ca (for 5U, 7U, and 9U) or to john.behara@hhmba.ca (for 11U, 13U, 15U and 18U).

The number of coaches directly affects the number of teams that we will be able to offer this season.  If there are not enough volunteers who step forward, we may not be able to accommodate all children who want to play ball this season.
