With the restrictions being placed on Peel and Toronto regions, we would like to remind our teams that players who LIVE in either of these regions CANNOT step foot on diamonds for games in Halton Hills. Please remember these rules when scheduling exhibition games or when you have an out-of-town player on your roster.
At this time, practices including Peel or Toronto players can be held, but are limited to 25 individuals at the diamond.
Families are reminded to ensure that they are using the ONDeck App when attending any team function. If you have any questions, please reach out to email@example.com.
Despite putting locks on our new field at TSP, we have some of our players who know the codes and have been using the diamond with their parents and friends.
We are asking if this is a member of your family that you also remember that the diamond requires maintenance after each use, especially the mound, so it can be playable for the next group.
If you are interested in learning what needs to be done, our Elite squad is still practicing on the field and Coach Peddle would welcome you at the end of his game or practice. We need your help to be able to maintain our premier diamond. Reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information
The Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association has been advised that one of its players has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and other players have been tested for COVID-19 due to exhibiting symptoms. While we do NOT currently have a positive case within our Association, we would like to reiterate the importance of following Health Unit directives when it comes to dealing with a possible exposure.
The Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association is advising families who have been contacted by any Public Health organization to follow the instructions that were given to them. If a player has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 they MUST not return to baseball for 14 days from the date of their exposure and must self-isolate as per our Emergency Response Plan and Halton Region Health Department. It is critically important for the safety of all players, coaches, staff and volunteers that these protocols be followed so as to limit the spread of the virus and ensure that we can continue to play baseball in a safe environment.
At this time, players who have not been directed to self isolate by a health unit and have passed the self assessment prior to practice/tryouts will be allowed to continue training. We also ask that you respect any direction from our coaches, if they suspect a player is showing symptoms at the field.
We recognize that we are currently still in our "tryout" portion of the season and would like to assure parents that no player will be disadvantaged for following any directive to self isolate. We ask that if a player has been directed to self isolate that you inform the Director of Travel, email@example.com and the coach of the team so that we can note that the player is still interested in playing and will be given a fair opportunity to be assessed by the coaching staff once it is safe for the player to return to training.
On behalf of the Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support as we all deal with the impacts of COVID-19 and do our best to keep each other safe.
Larry Fitzgerald, HHMBA President and ERP Lead
