Junior House Director
Volunteer Opportunity: Director of Junior House League
HHMBA is recruiting a volunteer Director of Junior House League to join our Board of Directors. This is a voting member position with full standing on the board.
About Junior House League
Junior House League has approximately 380 players across three divisions:
- 5U Teeball
- 7U Coach Pitch
- 9U Machine Pitch
For most kids in Halton Hills, this is where their baseball journey begins. The Director of Junior House League leads the program that shapes that first experience.
What the role involves
The Director of Junior House League is responsible for the people and operations side of the program, including:
- Overseeing team builds across all three divisions
- Recruiting coaches for the junior division
- Coordinating with coaches, convenors, and parents throughout the season
- Co-Leading the two Junior House League tournaments
- Representing Junior House League at monthly board meetings
- Working alongside the IT Director, Director of Logistics and Planning, and other board members on cross functional needs
The technical side of registration, scheduling platforms, and data entry is handled by the IT Director. This role focuses on program leadership, not systems administration.
Time commitment
- Approximately 5 to 7 hours per week during the playing season
- Two tournament weekends
- Lighter involvement in the off season, primarily monthly board meetings and pre season planning
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate is:
- Organized and comfortable juggling multiple moving pieces
- A clear communicator with parents, coaches, and fellow board members
- Willing to step into a leadership role and make decisions
- Connected to HHMBA in some way, whether as a current parent, former player, or community member
No formal baseball background is required. We will provide onboarding, and you will be working alongside an experienced board.
